RETAIL STORE

Duggal’s Retail Center has a long history of being the crossroad for the photographic community.

In our conveniently located Chelsea street-level center, you can meet everyone from talented students just starting their careers to legendary veteran photographers and artists with intricate instructions and specifications for gallery exhibits.

Duggal gives artists and photographers access to the latest technology while still embracing the craftsmanship that made the company legendary, allowing them to express their creativity in ever increasing and exciting ways. Duggal provides prints direct to woods and metals to large seamless fabrics and canvas printing up to 16 feet by 100 feet.

Lovers of film (B&W, C41 and E6) come for traditional film developing, conventional-printing and high resolution scanning.

Customers find their way to us to duplicate and/or restore family heirloom photographs and documents, often availing themselves of our Artisan Custom Framing.

Artists come with their original art to be photographed in our Studio. Digital files are created (also from oversized photos or documents) which can then be used for reproduction or for catalog, reference or other use on the web.

Duggal Visual Solution creates beautiful digital photographic prints, giclee pigment prints and canvases in various sizes for home decor or retail display, mounting or framing them in elegant, appealing applications, including our signature Floating Gallery Plexi Mounts.

INNOVATION LAB

Duggal’s most recent innovative addition is the The Innovation lab. It is more than a location, more even than a set of skills, more even than a cadre of specialized staff, though it is all these aspects in the aggregate. It is a force that consists of a team of designers, each of whom have profound understanding of a core Duggal capability, along with essential personnel who lead the consultation with clients to comprehend, summarize, and communicate the needs of each project. The Lab also is made up of researchers who probe and examine the changing dynamics of visual atmospheric experience through the latest technological tools and applications.

This Lab in essence takes what we currently call Duggal Design Services and enhances it with exploration of how well crafted visual content coupled with innovative digital display technologies and well crafted displays can influence human engagement in the spaces of physical interaction and virtual experience. Empowering retail environments, museums, events, hospitality venues and showrooms
.
The Innovations Lab has won many awards for its designs including Best in Show at Global Shop in 2016.

HISTORY

Duggal’s history is one of innovation. Duggal was incorporated in 1963 by our late founder, Baldev Duggal, who used his ingenuity and keen understanding of photography to design and build the first Dip and Dunk film processing machine, which revolutionized film developing and remained the core to processing technology for decades.

Starting in the late 1980s, Duggal again invested aggressively in new technology to vault the company forward. Duggal was the first company to introduce sophisticated RGB drum scanning and electronic retouching for photographers. The company was an early adopter to digital and wide format printing. In 1993, the company was the first to ever wrap an entire building in a wide format visual.

Investing in the latest technology while not forgetting our artistic roots has been the guiding principle for the company and Chief Executive Officer Michael Duggal. He joined Duggal Visual Solutions in 1995 and took over operations in 2002 as CEO. He had been set about building the logistics and scale to bring what the company learned serving the world’s top artists and museums to premium retail stores, design firms and corporate clients who want to stand apart from their competition.

Today Duggal Visual Solutions, Inc. continues that tradition by having an unequaled combination of the latest printing, display and digital signage and content capability. The company continues to grow and serve a who’s who list of top corporations, museums and artists including nearly a third of the Fortune 100.

Duggal is a certified 100% minority owned business. The company is an equal opportunity employer with a diverse staff and management of 340+ experienced professionals and technicians dedicated to providing the highest level of service for our customers. Duggal has achieved every major Green accreditation available including being FSC certified, Rain Forest Alliance Certified, Sustainable Green Printer Certified (SGP), and is proud to have the only LEED GOLD visual production facility in the United States. Our LEED building features solar and wind power, rainwater collection, LED lighting and sustainable building materials.

The company remains headquartered in Manhattan, with seven additional facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Portland Oregon which total over 250,000 square feet of production space.
