3D/ Lenticular/ Holographic

With today's technology and design capabilities, lenticular product imagery can be used in a variety of applications. Whether you want a 3D image providing depth to your piece or a lenticular flip including up to fifteen images to as little as two to provide on animation or morph effect.

Our 3D lenticular department has produced campaigns for major retailers as well as produced one off pieces displayed in museums and galleries around the world.

  • What are Lenticular Prints:

    Lenticular printing is a multi-step process consisting of creating a lenticular image from at least two existing images, and combining it with a lenticular lens. This process can be used to create various frames of animation (for a motion effect), offsetting the various layers at different increments (for a 3D effect), or simply to show a set of alternate images which may appear to transform into each other.

  • Types of effects:

    The first step in lenticular design is to choose the effect that best suits your graphic or the message you are trying to communicate.

    Lenticular effects can be just about anything such as 3D, flip, animation, morph, and zoom

  • Designing for Animation (morph, zoom, flip):

    The lenticules for animation effects may run vertically or horizontally. However, you will see better results-meaning cleaner action and far less chances of ghosting when the lenticules are in the horizontal direction. For larger, more stationary pieces such as a poster or P.O.P. display, the vertical direction should be used since it requires the viewer to move rather than the piece.

  • Designing for 3D Lenticular:

    The lenticules for 3D always run vertically in order to accommodate binocular disparity (the principle that your right eye and left eye view a scene from slightly different angles.) Adding depth files to your 3D art will give your images a rounded look that mirrors the way your eyes view the environment, thereby making the effect seem more realistic.
