[insider] NEW YORK #16 – Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center: Rockefeller Center was named after John Rockefeller. He initially planned to build an Opera House for the Metropolitan Opera but after the stock market crash in 1929 he changed his mind. Today it is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres between 48th and 51st streets in NYC. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
