[insider] NEW YORK #5 – Central Park

Central Park: Central Park was designed by landscape designer and writer Frederick Law Olmsted and architect Calvert Vauz in 1858 (they also designed Brooklyn’s Prospect Park).

Central Park gets about 35 million visitors each year and is the most visited urban park in the U.S. The park is 2.5 miles long spanning from 59th Street to 110th Street and it is .5 miles wide between 5th Avenue and Central Park West. In 1963 Central Park became a National Historic Landmark.
