ABOUT THE ARTIST & WORKING WITH DUGGAL
Barbara has won a number of awards including the Laureate Award from the Norman Rockwell Museum. Her work has been seen by many and has a large following of fans. About 2 years ago one of our own talented artists, Karl Rudsill came up with the idea of photographing Barbara while she worked on creating art of a model as a subject matter in her new studio. Since Barbara was on a very busy traveling schedule Karl continued to work with her, orchestrating casting calls at several agencies in NY and searching for the perfect production team of stylists, hair & makeup, assistants, etc. What made this even more difficult was that at the time this was going on it was Fashion Week in Paris limiting available professionals. After the team was selected we all went to work. After the shoot, we edited and retouched each of the images so that Barbara and her design team could created a layout and turn
ed them into a book ("The Model Project" catalog).
PAST EXHIBITIONS
The first show Barbara and Duggal worked on together happened at Sienna Gallery in Stockbridge, MA. She then won the First Honorary Laureate Award at the Norman Rockwell Museum, where we created 9 beautiful prints on aluminum. At that event Barbara also spoke about the history of her work and introduced Duggal as “ the best digital print company in NY”. You can see an article on the Sienna Gallery Exhibit in Digital Photo Pro Magazine. Later the exhibition was picked up by DNR Gallery in NY.
OTHER CURRENT EXHIBIT
Currently we are working with Barbara to install many new pieces (inspired by “The Model Project”) in a new 54 floor hotel on 29th Street and 6th Avenue in NYC called
Eventi Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel opening April 2010. The main theme art image of Barbara’s that we produced for the Eventi Hotel is 28’ x 12’ large and several other massive images 9’ x 12’. All images will be displayed between three floors will be printed on aluminum sheets by us here at Duggal.
