Inspired by the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie premiering on June 2, Burger King has launched a limited-time promotion for the new Spider-Verse whopper, transforming their Astoria Queens location into a visual feast for Spidey fans.
Ohio-based design studio, 500 Degrees, brought this exciting project to Duggal Visual Solutions, hoping to take patrons through the Spider-Verse portal into a new, fun, and vibrant experience.
Duggal’s Sr. Account Executive Carole Garcia teamed with Mark Wenger to outline the budget, and project planning to oversee the production and installation of all graphics.
Key elements included engineering and fabrication, by Duggal’s Fabrication team. This included two freestanding fully lit 3D acrylic portal structures for the entrance and drive-through areas and 2D Die cut Spiderman figures to appear floating off the walls and on the exterior street sign.
The Wide Format division printed over 5000 sq ft of exterior building wrap and interior self-adhesive vinyl, and also provided high gloss table tops, floor graphics, see through double-sided perforated window and door prints. Special advantage was taken of the SwissQ print neon ink capabilities producing images with boosted color.
Of particular interest to the young patrons visiting the Queens location is the Instagram corner, where you can put on a Burger King Spidey crown, sit on the brick wall and have your photo taken with Miles Morales popping off the wall right next to you.
Essential to meeting the challenge of transforming initial concept renderings into fully realized designs, within budget and on schedule, for a project of this scope, was a strict focus on time management with daily coordination between multiple departments. Duggal is proud to have assisted 500 Degrees and Burger King in translating this vision into reality.
