In 1962, St. Jude’s founder Danny Thomas opened the doors to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital with a simple, yet powerful dream: “no child should die in the dawn of life”. Since then, St. Jude’s has worked to provide free-of-cost cancer treatment to many thousands of children.
They have contributed immensely to increasing the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% (where it stood when Danny Thomas founded the organization) to 80% (where it stands today). In 1962, a child diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, faced a 4% chance of survival. Today, thanks in no small part to the incredible efforts of St. Jude’s, that figure has increased to 94%.
Still, St. Jude’s pushes forward. They remain committed to continuing the fight until no child dies from childhood cancer, working every day to bring Thomas’s dream ever closer to reality.
Duggal is proud and honored to host the upcoming St. Jude’s 60th Anniversary NYC Gala at the Duggal Greenhouse. The event will feature an immersive St. Jude mission experience exhibit, signature cocktails, food tastings from local NYC restaurants, a seated dinner, live entertainment, and St. Jude speakers. All proceeds will go towards supporting St. Jude’s life-saving mission.
St. Jude’s stands as a beacon of hope for thousands of families facing the struggle of battling childhood cancer. Their commitment to free-of-cost care has extended treatment to many who would otherwise have been unable to access it. Duggal is proud to stand humbly alongside St. Jude in its efforts.
