The Adidas Tango League is a global campaign giving young soccer players a platform to showcase their skills and become Adidas-sponsored athletes. Tango is essentially the streetball of soccer, taking the sport’s intensity to new heights by playing in unexpected venues – such as a concrete alley in L.A.’s Arts District, and most recently, the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where New York’s up-and-coming footballers competed both in teams and individually. Urban Pitch explains:
“The two players ultimately with the most points will be competing in London with the top Tango talent from each country in a 5-day activation that culminates with the crowning of an international Tango Global MVP. The players will also be able to watch the UEFA Champions League finals in Cardiff.”
Duggal Visual Solutions transformed the Greenhouse with massive floor graphics representing the lines of a soccer field, a large score board and vinyl logos installed on the venue’s exterior. On hand at the event was the Italian football club, Juventus, in town for the International Champions Cup at MetLife Stadium.
The NY Tango League also debuted the latest and greatest Adidas soccer gear as hundreds of spectators immersed themselves in pure grit and an electrifying brand experience. Juvenus presented the championship to the winning club, signing autographs and showing support for the next generation of soccer stars.
