Jody Steel simply didn’t have any paper on hand, so she began drawing on her thigh.
A timely portrait of Breaking Bad’s Walter White and more than half a million Reddit views later, the Emerson College visual arts student has a loud buzz swirling around her insanely detailed leg sketches, which she often draws in class. And they’re so impressive, her teachers don’t mind.
Not only did Miller endorse her student’s alternate use of class time, she hired her for herself. Steel is now drawing for Miller’s upcoming book series, Steaming Into a Victorian Future.
While pursuing a career in film production, Steel says illustrating is her “absolute main passion in life,” and that she eventually wants to work in the art department for a film and run her own gallery on the side.
This young woman appears well on her way to a successful creative career.
