Digital Printing Meets Hand Painting on Cheryl Molnar s Surreal Wood Panels

New York-based collage artist Cheryl Molnar has a uniquely artistic process to her prints, with new works now on display in the exhibition, Sites Unseen, at C24 Gallery in Chelsea. Molnar sources wood panels and brings them to Duggal Visual Solutions for direct-to-wood printing preserved by UV liquid lamination. Then, she selectively paints and collages onto the printed pieces, resulting in multilayered fine art prints with dimension, character, and fascinating landscapes combining the real and imagined.   C24 explains: In the context of today s digital art, Molnar s handcut constructions, though deploying modern technology and digital imagery, are relatively analog, as MySpace pages are to today s state-of-the-art interactive blog platforms. In her space, Molnar collapses a traditional sense of location and time, offering instead a surreal juxtaposition of elements to confuse and confound the senses.   Molnar has been working with Duggal for years to hone the production of her craft and vision. It is always a pleasure, Cheryl! Congratulations on the new exhibition, and we can t wait to see more of your work. Sites Unseen is on display at C24 Gallery in New York City through Thursday, March 25, 2021. Read more on the C24 Gallery website and be sure to visit www.cherylmolnar.com.
