NYC Holi Hai is billed as “The Happiest Festival in New York City.” Holi, a spring color festival founded in India and replicated in New York City, champions diversity and equality for all, bringing together people from all backgrounds, cultures and age groups. Celebrating #ColorsOfDiversity literally and figuratively, the 2017 festival took place on May 6th, 2017 on Governors Island, with Duggal Visual Solutions as a key sponsor.
Dance, live music, and delicious food under blue skies strewn with white clouds marked a day of festivities where revelers wore white clothing and willingly doused themselves in powders representing the entire color spectrum. From hot pink to canary yellow to emerald green, the attire of thousands of New Yorkers transformed in color and character while rhythms inspired by classical Indian music, Bhangra, and several high-energy dance troupes entertained the crowd.
As the festival’s exclusive print sponsor, Duggal produced backdrops, large-scale banners and signage printed on outdoor mesh and vinyl that helped brand Holi Hai as a place to laugh, forget, forgive and play while enhancing the main stage and overall atmosphere with vibrant visuals. Hennaed hands in Ancient Indian Mehndi designs and smiles galore could be spotted throughout the crowd, visible symbols of the pleasure of the day. The Duggal Big Picture Foundation was also on site to support the event, hosting a drawing station for children featuring traditional “rangoli” coloring pages printed on matte card stock using Indigo. We’re already looking forward to next year!
