Less than two weeks after a gunman killed 49 people and injured 53 others in Orlando’s Pulse gay nightclub, LGBTQ Pride Week 2016 brings an overflow of emotion, togetherness, and support. The worst mass shooting in U.S. history left the gay community reeling and sunk our country’s collective heart into mourning, but it did not suppress gay rights or dent gay pride.
As businesses across NYC decorated their quarters in solidarity of NYC Pride Week, Duggal’s Susanne Cyrgalis and Marty McDonough worked with Eileen Fisher designers Mark Goulet, Jeremy Silberbeg and Kelly Crimmins to produce a colorful, 48-piece Pride display for the fashion brand’s Fifth Avenue store at 21st Street.
At a time that calls for love and acceptance more than ever, we hope the installation helps to rally the crowd as millions attend Sunday’s Pride March from 36th Street and Fifth Ave. down to the West Village.
