Fedora: The term fedora originates from a play titled, Fédora, in 1882. The heroine of the play, Princess Fédora, wore a hat very similar to what is considered a fedora today.
Men began wearing fedoras during the 1920s and they were very popular on the east coast of the United States. The hat was stylish and protected the head from wind and foul weather. Fedoras recently came back into style because of their retro look and are now often worn by hipsters.
