“This is for anyone curious about fashion. Fashion is a business and an art. You’re here because we want you to dream bigger.”
Those words from First Lady Michelle Obama addressing fashion students echoed through the hearts of fashion mavens and celebrities during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s newly refurbished Anna Wintour Costume Center.
The opening of the $40 million museum wing, named after the legendary Vogue editor-in-chief, drew a who’s who of top designers including Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Donatella Versace, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and Alexander Wang. After Mrs. Obama’s speech, guests toured the center’s inaugural exhibit featuring the timeless work of Charles James.
As a visual production consultant to the world’s leading fashion labels, Duggal is honored to play a role in the momentous opening of the Anna Wintour Costume Center. Mark Wenger and Shawn Hallinan worked closely with Met designers and event creatives in producing various design elements, including the fashion exhibit's custom wallpaper and opening ribbon itself.
