For creatives, the pinnacle of commercial success is seeing their work displayed in a world-famous location like Times Square. Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta student Iara Faria realized that dream sooner than most as the winner of the Arts Thread and Nasdaq Relentless Possibilities Competition.
In addition to receiving a $3,000 USD prize, Faria was flown to New York City to see her winning artwork displayed in Nasdaq’s new 10th floor event space at the exchange’s 4 Times Square global headquarters. Duggal Visual Solutions printed the 25-foot-long, 5-foot-tall piece on fabric before mounting it into a custom gasket frame fitted on site. Adjacent to the work is a description of the design concept and information about Faria.
“When I think of relentless possibilities, I immediately envision every creative act I've either tried or come across and my mind wanders and wanders through the sheer vastness of the idea,” Faria wrote in her entry. “This process and act of wandering in all that is possible, not just creatively, but in nearly every facet of life could only be visualized in my mind by a never-ending circuit of fluctuating currents that could start and end and connect in every which way. This is what I have envisioned and created in this project.”
Duggal congratulates Faria on her newfound fame and applauds Arts Thread for bringing this fantastic opportunity to artists across the globe. We would also like to thank Nasdaq for welcoming us into their HQ and including us all on an exterior billboard at the Crossroads of the World.
