Creating opportunities for New York City’s underserved youth through art, NYC Salt continues to expand its outdoor exhibition presence with Duggal Visual Solutions as its printing and graphics sponsor. The arts program, boasting an impressive 100-percent high school graduation and college acceptance rate, stages thought-provoking shows spotlighting works by its students and alumni. Its summer 2021 programming brings two outdoor exhibitions that turn heads and open minds:
Emerging Artist Exhibition
In collaboration with Hudson River Park, NYC Salt presents its emerging artist exhibition featuring program alumni. Curated by Polly Irungu, the exhibition serves as a direct reflection of NYC Salt’s mission to engage students from all backgrounds with professional photography instruction, college preparatory workshops, and career exposure in the art world. Twenty-two large scale works displayed on 7-by-9-foot vinyl panels highlight students’ unique perspectives and creative expression, giving parkgoers an artistic nudge of enlightenment as they take in the breeze and scenery on the riverfront.
