Verizon’s Oath Inc., the digital media arm comprising AOL and Yahoo!, made a splash at the 2018 Digital Content NewFronts with an all-in party at New York’s Pier 26.
“Instead of parading its executives on stage to talk in veiled terms about branded content possibilities and audience reach, the Verizon subsidiary, which operates The Huffington Post and Yahoo sites, along with Ryot, Tumblr and Aol, held something between a carnival and a college party hosted by Jamie Foxx," WWD raved.
Throughout the event, referred to as an “uprising” and applauded by Ad Age as the “best college vibe” of the 2018 NewFronts, Oath rolled out new programming while seeking to build trust with consumers and advertisers.
“We think we have a history and a legacy of equity and trust — and again, trust is important. So while we could go out and make up or buy new properties, these brands have a deep relationship with advertisers,” John DeVine, Oath’s chief revenue officer, told Digital News Dailybackstage before the event. “They have come to trust Yahoo Finance, for example."
Speaking of Trust, global events leader First Agency entrusted graphics production for the Oath NewFront to Duggal Visual Solutions. From banners and precision-cut lettering to self-adhesive vinyl and dye-sublimated street murals, the stage was set for a branded extravaganza on the Hudson River.
