Omar Columbus Performs at the New York Historical Society

Duggal’s own Omar Columbus performed at the New York Historical Society as part of their Voices From War: Stories & Conversations on Transitions series in honor of Veterans Day Weekend.

The series comprised of six original narratives that explored the many ways military service shapes lives.

Omar wrote about his service in Iraq and what he took and brought back with him in the poems “White Marker” and “When I Sleep.”

Working with Duggal’s Big Picture Foundation, Omar is collecting greeting cards and supplies to send some holiday cheer to the troops overseas on the front line. The collection bin for Operation Care Package is located in the lobby of Duggal’s Building 25 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The deadline to donate is November 21st.
