The panda is a conservation-reliant endangered species with a population hovering at just 1,600. In an effort to raise awareness of the rapid decrease of panda life, French Artist, Paulo Grangeon partnered with WWF, PMQ, and AllRightsReserved for a pop-up panda exhibition. The traveling pack of papier-mâché sculptures will occupy 10 locations across Hong Kong during the month of June.
In 2008, Grangeon began creating his pandas from recycled material to represent the threatened panda population. The panda takeover has since inhabited cities worldwide including Paris, Rome, Berlin and Taipei. Grangeon plans to create four additional pandas for his Hong Kong tour that will remain in place once the tour departs.
