As New York s Baked by Melissa reopens its 14 stores citywide, customers can feel comfortable ordering those delicious, delightful, cute-little-bite-size cupcakes behind clear Plexiglass partitions. After socially distant site surveys, mechanical drawings and custom sizing, Duggal Visual Solutions is installing the shields at all Baked by Melissa locations, with Duggal s Ryan Shorr overseeing the production and installation. 
Plexi is the perfect material to keep the aesthetic and welcoming atmosphere while helping customers and staff feel safe, Shorr said. Founded in 2008 by Melissa Ben-Ishay as a single pickup window in SoHo, Baked by Melissa sweetens any day in New York City. During the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, when the city came to a total shutdown, the bakery chain delivered free boxes of the mini cupcakes to anyone across the country celebrating a birthday solo.
