Located on 1st Avenue at East 23rd Street in the heart of New York City's health care community, the Manhattan campus of VA New York Harbor Healthcare serves veterans living across the five boroughs. Duggal Visual Solutions is an ongoing partner in helping the VA Medical Center New York uplift patients’ spirits with vivid imagery promoting veterans’ wellness.
Led by Duggal Big Picture Foundation members, Marc Lovci, Jerid O’Connell, Heather Griffin and Olivia Frame, the Duggal team set out to beautify the site’s walls and interiors. We first sourced various images for the hospital’s staff to choose from, and then produced the selections on wide format, eco-friendly wallpaper donated by Neenah Paper. The final pieces are installed in two of the center’s psychiatric rooms.
Next, Duggal plans to reimagine roughly a dozen rooms throughout the hospital as fundraising allows. Our very own Omar Columbus, a veteran who now works with Duggal as a visual consultant, is also contributing his time to help bring added inspiration and expertise to the project.
