P.S. Art 2013: Celebrating the Creative Spirit of New York City Kid
The annual P.S. Art exhibition marks its 11th year. This exhibition showcases the work of young artists from New York City’s public schools, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, as they show off their talents. Many paintings, sculptures, and photographs will be on display. This will be a great way to for future artists to explore their own talents.
This exhibition by Ellen Gallagher touches on her radical approach to image, text, surface, mass culture and social history. Many transformation pieces are shown through iconic paintings, drawings, and prints. Don’t Axe Me will highlight humor and psychological complexity of the arts. This is one of Gallagher’s first exhibitions in the New Museum of Contemporary Art.
