Upcoming Exhibition: Featuring Lisa Cueman

At Duggal we love sharing new and exciting gallery openings and exhibitions. Outside the Horse | Inside the Man is an exhibit that Duggal got to work very closely with. Curated by our very own Duggal team member Hillary Altman. Lisa Cueman was also chosen as a runner up in our “Capture the Moment Contest” where we got a sneak preview for her upcoming exhibition. Opening reception is on February 20th, 2013 at 6pm at Greensquare Tavern: 5 West 21st Street, New York, NY

Statement From the Artist:

Outside the Horse | Inside the Man is a collection of equine photography by Vermont based equine photographer Lisa Cueman. Inspired by Winston Churchill’s quote “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man”, Lisa’s photography explores the truism of Churchill’s words in the capture of subtle gestures, strong forms and compelling textures. The horses showcased in this collection vary from the domesticated show horse and back yard pet, to the wild mustangs of the west and more recently, the wild horses of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The horse as a whole has long been celebrated as an art form but by isolating the forms and gestures, one can experience the intimate beauty and expressiveness that Lisa believes resonates with “the inside of a man”. Lisa’s work is represented by The Iris Gallery of Aspen, CO and Boston, MA and by Tilting at Windmills of Manchester, VT
