Junior Engineer – Digital Signage & Experiential Systems

Junior Engineer – Digital Signage & Experiential Systems

The Junior Engineer – Digital Signage & Experiential Systems supports the engineering, documentation, and integration of advanced digital signage and AV installations. This role combines hands-on CAD drafting with system design and field coordination, working closely with project managers, designers, and fabrication partners to translate creative concepts into technical realities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, versatile engineer with 1–3 years of experience in the AV or digital signage industry—someone equally comfortable producing drawings at their desk or joining a field team to assist with on-site installation and servicing.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Drafting

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for digital signage, AV, and experiential installations.
  • Develop system schematics, mounting details, cable paths, and device layouts in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and millwork drawings to ensure accurate system integration.
  • Maintain drawing standards, version control, and documentation for multiple active projects.

System Engineering & Field Support

  • Assist senior engineers with system design, including displays, media players, control systems, and networking.
  • Support documentation for equipment lists, wiring diagrams, and rack layouts.
  • Participate in on-site installation, servicing, and system testing as project needs require.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and technicians during fabrication and integration.

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Interface with millworkers, architects, and other trades to align digital systems with environmental design intent.
  • Participate in design reviews, coordinate markups, and integrate revisions.
  • Support as-built documentation and field verification after installations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in CAD drafting or engineering for AV, digital signage, or experiential projects.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and system documentation.
  • Familiarity with digital signage systems design, display integration, and signal flow.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working both at a desk and in the field, depending on project needs.
  • Hands-on, flexible, and motivated to learn across disciplines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with an AV consultancy or digital signage integrator.
  • Understanding of IT/networking fundamentals related to AV systems.
  • Familiarity with fabrication methods, materials, and architectural coordination.
  • AVIXA CTS certification or progress toward certification.
