Design to Print, a division of Duggal, designed, fabricated, and produced a custom finish line arch for the St. George Marathon, creating a reusable landmark for one of the nation’s longest-running municipal marathons. Standing 13 feet tall and 46 feet wide, the structure combined custom fabrication with interchangeable graphics, giving organizers a long-term solution that can evolve year after year.
Challenge
The St. George Marathon needed a finish line structure that would make a strong visual impact on race day while standing up to repeated use across future events. The solution also needed the flexibility to refresh branding and event graphics without rebuilding the arch for every race.
Solution Design to Print engineered and fabricated a custom finish line arch measuring 13 feet high by 46 feet wide. The structure was built using our patented aluminum extrusion system, creating a durable framework designed for repeated event use.
To support future graphic updates, we incorporated Silicone Edge Graphics (SEG) that can be easily changed without replacing the structure itself. The arch was then finished with a custom powder-coated surface for added durability and a polished appearance. Our team managed the project from concept through fabrication, engineering, graphic production, and final assembly. Before delivery, each SEG graphic was test-fitted to ensure precise installation within the aluminum framing system. This approach simplified set up for event organizers while ensuring a clean, professional finish on race day.
Results The completed finish line arch became a signature focal point of the event, creating a memorable backdrop for athletes, spectators, and race photography. By combining a permanent fabricated structure with replaceable SEG graphics, the marathon gained a long-term branding asset that can be refreshed for future races without additional structural fabrication. The project showcases how custom fabrication, engineering, and large-format graphics can be built once, refreshed, and deliver impact year after year.
