Duggal’s magic canvas makes it easy to install custom wallpaper without the pressure of placement and permanence. Magic canvas is removable and reusable simply by peeling and reapplying the material. Here are a few ways that brands and creative professionals are using magic canvas to create meaningful and impactful visual displays.
Gallery Exhibition
Aida Šehovic chose magic canvas as her medium for a poignant piece on the horrors of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Šehovic fled prior to the persecution and watched in anguish from afar. Many years later, her exhibition, “ŠTO TE NEMA (Why are You Not Here?),” at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, features traditional Bosnian coffee cups collected in memory of the 8,372 Bosnian Muslims killed by genocide. The magic canvas display is part of the museum’s Artivism exhibition.
Hospitality
Located near Duggal in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Head Hi is a destination coffee shop known for its curated art shows and publications. During the coronavirus pandemic, the shop captured our collective longing for concerts and live events in the exhibition, “Peripheral,” with photographs taken by Adam Bernstein at a raucous 2016 concert in NYC’s Tompkins Square Park. The images were surprisingly nostalgic for a relatively recent event. Duggal sponsored the exhibition and prints, including a giant magic canvas print as the centerpiece.
Retail
Brands love magic canvas, too. Duggal has transformed the H&M Store on 34th Street in NYC’s Herald Square multiple times, using the simplicity of magic canvas to create fresh visual experiences. In retail settings, magic canvas is great for in-store graphics, posters, window signage and wall coverings.
