In New York, October is “Archtober” as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter hosts a month-long lineup of exhibitions, programs, lectures and workshops around architecture and design.
Duggal Visual Solutions helped ring in Archtober 2017 by fabricating and sponsoring Scaffolding at the Center for Architecture in Manhattan. AIANY writes:
“Curated by Greg Barton, the exhibition examines extraordinary applications of scaffolding as a kit-of-parts technology that can provide novel forms of inhabitation and access. The exhibition, designed by Shohei Shigematsu and OMA New York with graphic design by MTWTF, disrupted the space of the Center for Architecture, instilling a new appreciation for the material’s transformative potential.”

Duggal’s Jeanne Tassone and Sugriv Grover led the Duggal production and fabrication teams in executing the exhibition designers’ periscope design to emulate the visual effect of infinity mirrors. Duggal also produced various other elements, including window graphics, day cards and journals, and will be offering AIA members free tours of its Brooklyn Navy Yard facilities as part of an ongoing partnership with the organization aimed at educating emerging architects on printing, fabrication and sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, Scaffolding is on display through January 18, 2018.
