Duggal Fashion Photo Contest – Runner Up: Joe Chahwan

Duggal Fashion Photo Contest – Runner Up: Joe Chahwan

Each week we will be showcasing one of the five runner-ups and on the sixth week we will showcase the winner of the contest!

Duggal is pleased to announce one of the runner-ups for the first Duggal Fashion Photography Contest! Congratulations to Joe Chahwan.

As far as he can recall, Joe Chahwan has always been amazed by the silent beauty of images, captivated by their mystifying untold stories, and passionate about their tiniest details. Chahwan is amazed by images that embrace unique moments, magically freezing time and space, while depicting the simple truth through everyday life.

Chahwan was born and raised in Lebanon during the civil war, where everything started for one reason and finished for another. Back then, safety was their highest priority and only concern. Everything else was secondary.

In 2007, he moved with his family –  his wife Fadia and their three daughters Clara, Christie & Michele to the United States, and settled in New York City. Here in the Big Apple, a new path began and Chahwan had the chance to discover a new era of photography with overflowing creativity and inspirational icons: social media, photographers, lifestyle, fashion, gastronomy, art, visual impact.

The photograph Chahwan submitted is titled “The Veil” and was taken at Oheka Castle with Nikon D3 and Sigma 12-24mm.

“I can describe my wedding photography style as mostly documentary, very photojournalistic, sometimes glamorous, a tiny bit traditional. It’s about capturing the timeless memories, the special moments, the little things, the small details: smiles, hugs, tears, laughter…”

“I consider each wedding as a unique event, which has its own specific identity, moments and facts; my job is to memorize  all those components in ‘pictures’.”
