The HP Indigo 12000 was the star of the show and pushing the design envelope the take away message at Duggal Visual Solutions’ latest learning and networking event on Wednesday, May 16th at our 29 West 23rd Street headquarters.
Some of New York’s finest in-house designers, all members of AIGA, enjoyed an all-access look at Duggal’s commercial printing press – which was the first commercially-released HP Indigo 12000 installed in the U.S. Duggal’s Indigo expert Demian Cacciolo guided the designers through a world of the breakthrough printer’s astounding capabilities, addressing what they can achieve design-wise, such as printing white ink on dark stock, using fluorescent inks, etc.
With live jazz playing and Prosecco flowing, the event began with informative and inspiring presentations. Duggal’s CEO Michael Duggal, spoke of the company’s eagerness to explore unchartered territory in print, urging designers to follow suit. Stephanie Hill from HP Business Development, spoke of the evolution of design, and presented stunning examples of custom, variable data printing as executed by major brands. After a lesson in file manipulation and pre-press, Duggal’s Demian Cacciolo hosted pressroom sessions giving the designers an inside look at the Indigo in action, running prints from files the guests had sent in advance of the event. Reps from Mohawk Paper were also on hand to speak to paper stock suitable for the Indigo’s dazzling features.
With the HP Indigo 12000, designers, creative agencies and leading brands can access an unprecedented range of commercial printing services. The HP Indigo 12000 is a more prolific alternative to traditional offset printing for short-to-medium-run commercial printing needs and ideal for posters, brochure, books, postcards, business cards, folders, catalogs, window clings and much more.
