Manhattan Bridge: The Manhattan Bridge crosses the East River in NYC and connects Manhattan (at Canal Street) with Brooklyn (at Flatbush Ave. Extension). It was the last of the three bridges to be built across the lower East River. It was opened in 1909 and designed by Leon Moisseiff who also designed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The Manhattan Bridge has 7 lanes of roadway and 4 train tracks for the B D N and Q trains of the New York City Subway.
