The Brooklyn Bridge: The Brooklyn Bridge was completed in 1883 making it one of the oldest suspension bridges in the U.S. The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River with a main span of 1,595.5 feet. In 1964 it was designated a National Historic Landmark and in 1972 it was designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
