Started in 2008, Brooklyn Flea offers some of New York’s most interesting and diverse shopping experiences, hands down. It is considered one of the best markets in the world; a place where you can find new and vintage clothing, furniture, jewelry, art, music, and some of the most storied vegetarian tacos in the 5 boroughs (Maria’s Tacos Authenticos). Over the years it has expanded to 5 locations which operate of different days, during it’s usual Spring to Thanksgiving outdoor season:
Fort Greene Flea – Saturdays from 10am to 5pm - 176 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn
Smorgasburg (Williamsburg) – Saturdays from 11am to 6pm - East River Waterfront, btw. North 6 and 7 St. this is the all-food market
Williamsburg Flea – Sundays from 10am to 5pm - East River Waterfront, btw. North 6 and 7 St.
Smorgasburg (DUMBO) – Sundays from 11am to 6pm - Tobacco Warehouse (30 Water St.)
Central Park SummerStage – Any and all SummerStage events - Rumsey Playfield, 72nd Street and 5th Ave., Central Park
And, not to leave shoppers out on the lurch during the colder months, they also operate winter pop ups in DUMBO, a holiday market in Manhattan, a market in the Brooklyn Masonic Temple as well as Skylight One Hanson in Williamsburg. It’s a great place to walk about, maybe pick some unique crafts or even just a great bite to eat, and you’ll only find it in New York.
