The beach – that’s where we all want to be, right? Especially with summer just around the corner.
Photographer Gray Malin takes the essence of the beach to new heights with À la Plage, À la Piscine, a bird’s eye view of beaches around the world. Hanging out of doorless helicopters over six continents, Malin captured hypnotizing images – miles of sand, glistening water, breaking waves and, of course, beachgoers.
On the ground, it’s the people that make the beach interesting. The same is the case in Malin’s photos, where people create captivating, bright-colored collages and patterns with their beach towels and umbrellas.
“From above, a simple beach or pool becomes a blank canvas that allows me to start seeing the world as art,” Malin says. “People and objects become patterns creating repetition, shape and form.”
