Miami is a world-class shopping destination, and the Miami Design District is the embodiment of the city’s fashion-forward spirit. Once an overlooked pocket of Buena Vista, today the Design District is home to a vibrant blend of more than 130 retailers, art galleries, showrooms, creative firms, restaurants and bars. It is an intersection of art, design and fashion alongside the glistening waters of Biscayne Bay, just a skip away from Miami Beach.
The Tourbillon Boutique is a focal point of the Design District’s newly developed Palm Court. The distinguished timepiece and jewelry maker attracts shoppers with a unique illuminated display built into the upper level of the storefront’s façade. Tourbillon designers called on Duggal to achieve their vision of a softly backlit image housed within an architectural “window closet.” Duggal installation experts navigated a two-foot-wide crawl space to install energy-efficient, high-intensity LED light panels along the back wall. The lighting fixtures create a backlit effect on a stretched fabric graphic framed from the inside for a fluid appearance.
Tourbillon’s elegance in turning what could have been a conventional retail display into a work of art speaks to the brand’s ingenuity and attention to detail, both of which are magnified upon entering the shop-in-shop boutique that showcases an array of Swatch Group brands including Breguet, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, OMEGA and Swatch.
Stay tuned for more from the Miami Design District.
